Dinner-table questions
- Why did Daniel keep trusting God in Babylon, where they didn’t know God? Why did he keep trusting God when it became dangerous?
Daniel knew that God was better than anything – his important job, even his life! God is always worth trusting and obeying. - In what ways does Daniel’s story look forward to Jesus? How were both Daniel and Jesus treated by those in charge? How were they treated by God the Father?
Daniel and Jesus were accused and punished, though innocent. God proved Daniel was innocent by delivering him from the lions. The Father proved Jesus was innocent by raising him from the dead. - What things and what lies try to stop us from following God?
Discuss! - God doesn’t promise to keep us from getting hurt, but what does He promise?
God promises to deliver us from our worst enemies: Satan, sin and death. He promises to be with us always, even when it’s costly.
Family Activity: sleeping lions
Everyone (except one hunter) should lie on the floor in sleeping positions. When the game starts, the lions are not allowed to move. The hunter should walk around the room, trying to spot a moving lion. They can try to make a lion laugh. If a lion moves, they also become a hunter.
