City Kids Parent Take-Home
Happy Easter! He is risen! This week we continued in our series in The Garden, the Curtain and the Cross. We’re celebrating that Christ has risen and considering the choice of whether to follow Him.
Acts 2
Big truth: Jesus rose from the dead! This means he has dealt with the problem of sin and death, and can offer his friends life for ever with him.
Christ connection: Jesus rose to beat sin and death
Faith Response: Children who respond to the choice that Jesus’ resurrection means – whether to accept that offer.
Memory verse: Deuteronomy 32:4 (NIV) song
He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.
Over the course of the series we’ll also be practicing the six memory verses we’ve learned since September. At the end of that there’ll be a chance to win a prize for reciting them all!
Dinner-table questions
- What happened to Jesus after his dead body was put in the tomb?
- What invitation does Jesus give to people?
Family Activity: Party!
Play some fun party games like:
Musical statues,
Duck, Duck, Goose,
Egg and spoon race,
Balloon volleyball.
When someone wants you to come to a party they invite you. What kind of invite has God given to us? How do we respond to it?
