He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.
Dinner-table questions
- What did Josiah do for the people? What was he unable to do for the people?
Josiah smashed the idols, repaired the Temple, and led the people to repent and follow God’s Word. But Josiah couldn’t change their hearts or take away their guilt. After Josiah died, the people turned away from God again, and went into exile. - How is Jesus better?
Jesus lived perfectly and died innocently in our place. He gives us a new standing and new hearts, so we can live for God. - Why is the Bible so important?
We need the Bible to know God and follow Him.
Family Activity: Hide & Seek
Hide a Bible somewhere in your home. The person who finds it can hide it again!
In today’s story, the people had forgotten God’s Word – a bit like today! When Hilkiah found the Book of the Law in the Temple, it was like finding a great treasure.
