We believe this is an important part of our life as a church body both for the flourishing of you as an individual believer but also for the wider cause of the Gospel in our city. Our mutual commitment to one another reflects the God who pledges himself to us through the death and resurrection of his Son. Those who voluntarily commit themselves to the following undertakings: 1. Attendance – It is our conviction that church is a family of believers, a new community. As such we expect members to prioritise attendance at our Sunday gatherings and involvement with a community group. 2. Prayer – We all need prayer. In the same way that the leaders pledge to pray for you, we invite you to pray for your brothers and sisters at city. 3. Giving – Giving is an act of worship and obedience. Being a member of City Church means that you commit to giving sacrificially, regularly and joyfully according to the means that God has given you. 4. Service – Imagine a busy house with extended family over at dinner; people are cooking, others laying the table, playing with the children, stoking the fire…everyone pitching in. A City Church everyone serves. So we invite you to use your Spirit-given gifts to edify the body and to be proactive in seeking ways to help. 5. Godly Living – Following Jesus means integrating our faith with all of life. As a family on mission together we expect members to be seeking ways to share and commend the gospel to those around them. Moreover, Your actions, in private and in public, affect both your witness and the health of the community of faith. While it would be clearly wrong to require perfection we do expect members to (with God’s help) fight sin, repent quickly and seek help and support when you need it.
