Faith Response: Children who believe that they can live for Jesus no matter where they are or where they’re from.
Memory verse: Psalm 8:1 song
O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.
Dinner-table questions
- What did Naaman find out about God? Elisha didn’t want Naaman to try pay him back – what did that teach about God? (See 2 Kings 5:15)
Naaman found out God was God of the whole earth, and anyone could trust Him. Naaman learned that He was a God of power and grace. - Think about the girl living far away from Israel where they believed in different “gods”. Do you need to be in a particular place to live for Jesus?
No! Discuss places it might be more difficult to live for Christ (like school) and what the temptations are. Talk about how God’s Word equips us and His Spirit empowers us.
Family Activity: Elisha says
This game is a twist on ‘Simon says’. The leader says an action, e.g., “Elisha says clap.” Everyone must do that action 7 times. But if the leader doesn’t say “Elisha says” before the instruction, ignore it.
