Dinner-table questions
- The Israelites were enslaved to the cruel, stubborn Pharaoh. What did God do, and why?
God sent plagues to show that He is the one and only God, ruling over all creation. Nothing can stop God from delivering His people; Pharaoh and all the false Egyptian gods were no match for Him. - The Israelites were stuck between the Egyptian army and the Red Sea, facing death. Look up Exodus 14:13-14 – what does this tell you about the way God rescues His people?
God does 100% of the rescuing. God did everything to bring His people from slavery to freedom, from death to life. It’s the exact same for us. Jesus saves us completely! - How did the Israelites respond after seeing God save them powerfully?
They worshipped and sang praises to God. They were awestruck and trusted Him.
Family Discipleship activity: Arm wrestling!
Have an arm-wrestling competition. Who is the strongest?
God showed that He was stronger than Pharaoh and the pretend Egyptian gods. God is a good King. He used His strength to save His people! God is the best King.
The world says: “Be your own strength. You can save yourself”. But is that true?
