Dinner-table questions
- In the time of Elijah, what did God prove when He sent fire on the altar, and then rain to end the famine?
God proved that He was the only true God and nothing is too hard for Him. God showed His glory and provided for His people. - What did God prove when He sent Jesus? (Check out John 1:17-18)
Jesus is the ultimate proof of who God is. Jesus came to show God’s glory and His grace. - Christians can have doubts about God sometimes. That’s okay! The Bible has lots of prayers when people like David wondered if God was good or near or in control. How do you think we can respond when we have questions like this?
Discuss! Tell God our doubts and questions, and ask for His help. Keep on reading the Bible and meeting with God’s people. Talk to church leaders. Remember all the things God has done for you before.
Family Activity: Proofs Poster
Start making a poster together of all the ways God reveals Himself. You can write or draw pictures. e.g., the cross, the empty tomb, the Bible, things in creation, God’s people. Put the poster somewhere visible in your home and add to it when you think of another reason!
