Genesis 3

Big truth: Sin, suffering & death came into the world because Adam disobeyed God.
Christ connection: Jesus is the promised snake-crusher. He beat sin and death!
Memory verse: Romans 6:23 song
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Dinner-table questions:
  1. The snake acted like God was a meanie and a liar. Adam & Eve stopped believing that God was good and in charge. When are you tempted to believe that God isn’t good, and that you know better?
  2. What promise did God make to Adam and Eve after they sinned? How did God keep His promise?
Family discipleship activity

Use the snake printout that we sent home. Inside the snake outline, spend some time writing or drawing some of the results of sin in the world.
Then paint your child’s foot and make a footprint over the snake. Talk about how Jesus is the promised snake-crusher! He beat the power of sin, death, and Satan when he died and rose again. One day, Jesus will make everything new! (Genesis 3:15, Romans 16:20)
